A stablecoin-funded card can be a convenient travel companion: you keep dollar-denominated value in USDT or USDC and convert it into local currency only when you pay. Like any card, it works best when you prepare before leaving.

Before you leave

Check availability for every country on your route. No Agora card can be used in the unsupported regions. Virtual Card Plus and Physical Card Plus are also unavailable in Morocco, the United States, Bangladesh, India and Turkey, where Virtual Card Basic remains available.

Choose the right card. If you need cash or will meet terminals that only take plastic cards, such as some hotels, car-rental desks or transport ticket machines, you need Physical Card Plus. If you will pay mainly online and by phone, a virtual card may be enough. Our virtual vs physical guide compares them.

Order early. Physical cards ship with 48–72 hour priority delivery through EU and US warehouses, but delivery times depend on destination and courier conditions. Do not rely on the fastest case the week before a trip.

Set up your phone wallet. Add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay at home, while you have a reliable connection and can contact support if anything fails. Wallet support depends on the provider’s country, device and issuer requirements.

Save support contacts. Agora provides 24/7 private human support. Save the contact channels in advance so you are not searching for them at a declined terminal.

Loading funds on the road

Reloads with USDT or USDC are usually spendable within minutes, so you do not need to load your whole budget before you leave. Loading in stages limits what is exposed if a phone or card is lost. Always copy the deposit address from the card application and double-check the network.

Paying abroad

Cards are issued in USD and convert automatically to local currency. A 1.5% FX fee applies to non-USD payments, in addition to the normal transaction fee.

When a terminal or website offers to charge you in USD instead of local currency, decline. This “dynamic currency conversion” lets the merchant choose the exchange rate, which is usually worse than the card’s own conversion.

Hotels and car-rental companies often place a temporary hold (pre-authorization) larger than the final bill. Keep enough balance for the hold, and expect it to be released after check-out according to the merchant’s timeline.

Getting cash

Physical Card Plus withdraws up to $3,000 per day and $80,000 per month, with a 2% Agora fee plus FX when the cash is not in USD. ATM operators may add their own fee. See how to withdraw USDT at an ATM for step-by-step tips.

Things the card cannot be used for

Card programmes block certain merchant categories. Agora cards cannot be used for gambling, cryptocurrency purchases, sports betting, petrol, military supplies, gaming credits, non-profit organizations or government agencies. Petrol in particular matters on a road trip: plan another payment method for fuel.

Keep a backup

No card is accepted everywhere. Travel with a second payment method and some local cash, keep long-term crypto holdings in your own wallet rather than on the card, and load only what the trip requires. Funds on the card are held by Agora’s licensed and regulated custodian partners.
